I am 42 and only started playing two years ago. Now I am addicted but am contemplating a big set-up switch to the single-axis swing (Golf Tips Mag. July 2005) where your setup is basically the same as at impact. I was wondering what your take was on this type of uncomplicated swing for those of us who can't seem to get back on plane?

Enjoy your articles from down under(Australia)I sometimes`wonder if to much attention is given to details and the golfer is not FREE in mind to excersise a little flair and play naturally. The assumption is made that, grip, stancs, etc, are in the main understood.having read your articles
one where i have improved my scores is in course management.
The other are which has improved my score is getting away from QUICK FIXES in my swing. If i change a part of my swing I work only on that part for eg.15Minutes and get on with things.Your articles are great in that they
are great reinforces of basics.Bad Practice also makes permanent.
What do other golfs thing about playing naturallyIE not thing to much about the mechanics
Thanks

Last time out at Los Serrranos' south course I shot my best ever 83 on this par 74 course. Also, at Chino Creek I went really low for me 74 on this par 72 course. Your Break 80 email service is most informative and How to Break 80 ebook has great inof as well. Thanks. David Cox

Not a comment relavent to the current articles, but...

I was reading a well-known golf publication last month, and they had this article on the best clubs for different handicap ranges. I was rather looking forward to it, and when I finally read it, I threw the magazine down in disgust.

These geniuses, in their infinite wisdom, think that my group, the 10-19 handicap, should be playing a set of clubs that would cost clost to $3,000 new!!! Three grand? You've got to be kidding me! How low would my handicap go if I spent 3K on lessons?

The big club manufacturers need a wakeup call. Unfortunately, they're not going to get it as long as major publications, such as the one I was reading, continute to hype and push their products as the ONLY answer to a poor game.

There ARE club manufacturers out there that put out a good product, and they keep their costs down by NOT putting out millions of dollars a quarter enticing the pro's to endorse. These guys will make a better living than 95% of us just showing up and playing; do they need a $5,000 bonus for showing up and swinging their driver one time? Or $2,000,000 for wearing the logo on the hat?

Alas, who am I but a weekend warrior? Oh yeah, that's right, I represent the portion of the population who funds the corporate monster's ambition...

Thanks for all the tips from "How To Break 80". Being a new golfer and being "left-handed" is difficult for me when all the tips are basicly for right-handed golfers. So I want to know if you have any advice for us golfers who are "left-handed" and can't do "anything right".
                                           Thank You.

I have a problem with hitting the ball behind on many occasions or topping the ball. Also I dont get the divot when I hit the ball. This is especially true of the 2nd shot.
