[...] Become A Putting Machine. Description The Most Imaginative And Informative Instructional Book To Be Written In A Narrative Voice Since Michael Murphy Wrote The Best Selling: Golf In The Kingdom. John Andrisani. (Golf Magazine. Excerpt from product page Become a Putting Machine What If You Could Learn To Become A Putting Machine! * * * * * * * Become a Putting Machine [1] WHAT IF YOU COULD LEARN TO BECOME A PUTTING MACHINE! IS THERE A MAGIC ANSWER, A SPECIAL HIDDEN SECRET TO GREAT PUTTING? I CLAIM THERE IS A PROVEN, TESTED METHOD. SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT PUTTING IS 25% ART AND 75% SCIENCE. I SAY THAT PUTTING IS 25% PHYSICS OF THE MOVEMENT, 25% SUBJECTIVE OBSERVATION AND 50% IS OF ESOTERIC MATTER. MAGIC CAN ONLY BE FOUND IN THE LAST COMPONENT. YOU CAN ASK ANY GREAT ‘PUTTER' AND HE WILL HAVE A HARD TIME EXPLAINING IT. MAYBE YOU ASK YOURSELF QUESTIONS LIKE: WHAT DRIVES THE PATH OF MY PUTTER HEAD? DO I HAVE A ‘GRIP' THAT SUITS THE DESIRED PATH? WHAT IS THE ROLE OF MY LEFT SIDE? (RIGHT HANDED) DO I ROTATE MY SHOULDERS THE PROPER WAY? WHAT SHOULD BE THE TRIGGER OF MY ‘STROKE'? WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DEFINE TARGETS? ETC. DO YOU KNOW HOW TO USE YOUR PROFOUND INTUITION PROPERLY? BY THE WAY, IF YOU HAVE THE ‘YIPS'. THERE IS A CURE! IF YOU WISH TO IMPROVE YOUR PUTTING GAME, I HAVE 2 SUGGESTIONS: 1- YOU EITHER SPEND TIME WITH ME ON A PUTTING GREEN OR 2- YOU READ MY BOOK: "BECOME A PUTTING MACHINE"; AN ILLUSTRATED 33,166 WORDS E-BOOK. AFTER READING "BECOME A PUTTING MACHINE", THE MOST PROLIFIC AMERICAN GOLF WRITER, JOHN ANDRISANI, WHO WROTE AND CO-WROTE MORE THAN 35 BOOKS ON GOLF, ENDORSED MY BOOK AND ALSO WROTE THE ‘FOREWORD'. AMONG OTHERS, JOHN ANDRISANI IS THE AUTHOR OF: _ The Hogan Way _ _The Nicklaus Way_ _The Bobby Jones Way_ _Think Like Tiger_ _Play like Sergio Garcia_ _Golf Heaven_ _Golfweek's 101 winning golf tips_ _Etc._ _ _ AMONG OTHERS, MR.ANDRISANI IS THE CO-AUTHOR OF: _The plane truth for golfers with Jim Hardy_ _Butch Harmon's playing lessons_ _The four cornerstones of winning golf with Claude Harmon_ _Etc._ MR. ANDRISANI ALSO CONTRIBUTES INSTRUCTION TO VARIOUS GOLF AND OTHER POPULAR MAGAZINES. MR. ANDRISANI IS A FORMER COURSE RECORD HOLDER AND WINNER OF THE WORLD GOLF WRITERS' CHAMPIONSHIP. ENDORSEMENT BY JOHN ANDRISANI My writing career, highlighted by a 16-year stint as senior instruction editor at _GOLF Magazine_, has allowed me to work with the game's top tour professionals and teachers, on both how-to golf articles and books covering the total tee-to-green game. Where putting is concerned, I've had the chance to interview such golf greats as two-time Masters champion and green-wizard Ben Crenshaw, plus putting gurus, most notably teachers Dave Pelz and Stan Utley. It goes without saying that I learned a lot about golf's "ground game" from this trio of golf geniuses, through personal conversation or in reading their own instruction book's. However, not everything! I endorse _"Become a Putting Machine"_ because author and golf instructor Yvon Legault stands behind only one solitary and extraordinary putting method. Why? By testing out this technique over time, on golfers of varying handicaps, Legault proves that the unique way of putting that, incidentally, he learned from his Uncle Roger, performed the best; meaning golfers who employ it deliver the putter's face squarely to the ball at impact and, too, roll the ball close to the hole or into the cup a higher percentage of times. What impresses me most about the book you are about to read is how Legault teaches a method governed by an extraordinary setup and stroke action and, furthermore, relays instructional messages by telling a true story. _"__Become a Putting Machine"_ stylistically resembles Ernest Hemingway's _The Old Man and the Sea_, and contains short sentences that so simply put forth a series of technical points, revolving around the knowledgeable voices of the author and expert golfer/mentor Uncle Roger, that readers like you will become enthralled and enraptured by the putting instruction. Advice on choosing a putter, rules governing the setup and stroke, targeting-tips, instruction for improving distance control on the greens, practice pointers, links to programming a free and fluid subconscious-controlled putting action - and more - is covered in chapters following the author's introduction. Legault is so passionate about golf and providing golfers guidelines for improving, that he even presents readers with chipping and swing principles, relayed, once again, through wonderfully told stories. _"__Become a Putting Machine"_ is guaranteed to put you into a trance moments after you start reading this skillfully written book. You'll be in such a super-relaxed state of mind that you will be ready to learn a new putting technique that will produce on-target putts over and over again, just as Iron Byron, the testing robot located on the grounds of the New Jersey headquarters of the United States Golf Association, hits one straight drive after another. Welcome to Legault's wonderland, where putting dreams can come true for any pro or amateur golfer looking to putt more proficiently for the rest of their golfing lifetime. John Andrisani CHECK OUT WHAT SOME OF MY READERS/STUDENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT _BECOME A PUTTING MACHINE_ Dear Mr. Legault, I am so grateful to you. After 3 years of struggling with the 'yips'. Just when I was about to quit a game I love. In 2 sessions you took me out of my misery. To me, it is a miracle! My putting game is even better than before the 'yips'. Many thanks again. God bless you! P.MARTIN - THREE-RIVERS, QC, CANADA My total mental outlook on putting has gone full circle. Thanks to this book, I can't wait to get on the green. I have shaved 6 strokes off my game down to a 5. C. GALLO - NEW-YORK, NY I arranged for a private lesson with Mr.Legault. After watching me hit a few balls with my 7 iron, Mr. Legault told me that I was missing putts short and left of the hole. I asked him if he was a wizard because he was right. I learned more on putting in 90 minutes than in my entire life and my younger days are long gone. H. Setlakwe - Las Vegas, NV Recognized as a master of the putting game, Mr.Legault transmits us his knowledge through a warm and original story. A diamond on the green for a golfer. R.ROBILLARD - TORONTO, ON, CANADA I learned how to develop a putting game that peaks under pressure. Probably like other golfers, I have the impression that this book has been written for me. A. SYLVESTER - JUPITER, FL A book written with exceptional clarity, tinted with humor and with great sensitivity for this learned uncle. I have learned things I did not know. Best I have read! J. DESROCHERS - WESTMOUNT, QC, CANADA This book is much more than a putting lesson; it is a lesson in life! It made me realize that life, like golf, will give you what you expect not what you want. A. POMINVILLE - PARIS, FRANCE After 25 years of playing the game, I finally learned how to putt. No more 35-40 putts. A book you go back to, all the time. M. DE LA DURANTAYE – FORT LAUDERDALE, FL HERE ARE JUST A FEW EXCERPTS THAT BETTER ILLUSTRATE THE HELP YOU WILL GET IN THIS BECOME A PUTTING MACHINE! PAGE 12 - First of all, I will ask you an important question and your answer will determine how I will teach you. Is your goal to become a good putter or to become an exceptional putter? Think carefully before you answer because the path we take will not be the same. Without really understanding the true measure of the question and without realizing the impact of my answer, I replied: - I enjoy a challenge; therefore I choose to become an exceptional putter. PAGE 14 - For the majority of golfers putting is composed of two elements: 50% physics and 50% observation. For an exceptional putter it is composed rather of three elements: 25% physics of the movement, 25% subjective observation and 50% esoteric matter. This morning we will begin with the physics of the movement. His definition of the three necessary elements to carry out a putt left me a little perplexed: subjective observation was one thing but 50% esoteric matter? - What does esoteric mean uncle? - We're not there yet. I will explain in time PAGE 28 Once I arrived at the house, even before opening a beer I was drawn to the dictionary. I consulted my old Webster and turned to page 478 finding the word esoteric: adj. a) designed for or understood by only a chosen few, b) beyond the understanding or knowledge of most people. Wow! My jaw dropped, I was very intrigued PAGE 23 - The rotation axis of your shoulders and the position of your left hand on the putter, ( if right handed) are the keys to the square-back-and-square-through path of the putter's head. PAGE 27 - You must also understand the work of your left side. Your right side seems to be taking over on the forward stroke. When you dance with your girlfriend who leads? - I do. - Would you say she's a better dancer than you are? - Absolutely, she makes me look good. - You've said it all. When putting you are the left side and your girlfriend is the right side. Your left side and that includes your left hand, must remain in motion and active all the way, otherwise you will develop something I call a 'punch stroke'. What you want is a 'penetrating stroke'. The fact that your entire left side is in front of the ball before execution results in a continuous motion that goes through the ball producing a wonderful true roll. You do not want your right hand to take control at impact. The continued movement of your left side will keep the right hand out of mischief. The right hand wants to go the target and like I said before, that's fine, but it needs help from all the other parts. PAGE 23 - A reliable and repetitive stroke cannot be controlled by the arms or/ and the hands. When a stroke originates from the hands, you are playing Russian roulette. PAGE 71 - Because very few golfers realize this. A lot of golfers unconsciously experiment it. Professionals exploit it at different levels of comprehension and attain variable degrees of success, with the help of different methods. Champions try to exploit it at its maximum. FOREWORD _"Become a Putting Machine"_, by Yvon Legault, is the most imaginative and informative instructional book to be written in a narrative voice since Michael Murphy wrote the best selling _Golf in the Kingdom_. From the time you begin reading this wonderful book, you are taken down a yellow brick road of sorts, feeling as if you are right there with Legault, and like him receiving extraordinary putting lessons from Uncle Roger; a real-life character who has spent his life perfecting the art of putting and now is ready to pass on his secrets before he enters Heaven. While working as senior instruction editor at _GOLF Magazine_, I had the opportunity to work on articles with such putting legends as Ben Crenshaw and guru putting teacher Dave Pelz. What separates Legault from the pack, however, is the unique putting technique he presents. In a nutshell, when carefully analyzed, it truly is really like no other. I mean I was stunned at the apparent absurdity of Legault recommending students try an interlocking grip when putting. I had never heard this before. Most teachers instruct students to hold the putter with a reverse overlap grip. To shorten a long story, I tried the interlock grip and all of the other putting tips Legault learned from Uncle Roger, and I'll let you guess what happened.
