Secret Golf Lesson #2- Stop Pushing/Fading In 30 Seconds
This one’s a real gem folks. If you’ve been losing your shots off to the right (as a right-hander) as a fade or push, you’re going to LOVE the below video. In it Bobby shows one of his students a very little-known trick to stopping those bad shots to the right. It’ so simple you’ll probably kick yourself but regardless, it works.
I hope you’re enjoying these video lessons. Please let me know if you like them and if they are helping your game or if you have any questions.
Oh yeah, in case you missed the Secret Golf Lesson #1, see it here.

I thought this video would address the Push/Fade issue.
Can you give us a tip for Push/Fade problem?
Thanks.

I can’t begin to count how many “stop slicing” tips I’ve read or lessons I’ve paid for over the years. This video is best one I’ve seen because Bobby clearly explains how a poor swing plane will result in slice (and how to fix it). Now all I have to do is make every swing this way!

There is no link to Secret Tip #2.

The video has “Cuts”, or “Jumps” and I can’t see it straight.
Can I have a better quality?

Great lesson

This video instruction piece, according to my information about the golf swing, resolves the issue of a pull/slice, resulting from an “over the top” downswing plane.
It is my understanding that a push results from an inside to out path with a clubface square to the path and that a push/slice results from an inside to outside path with the clubface open to the swing path.
Am I wrong?

Jack
Another really good lesson.
I bought a package of 3 DVDs on the short
game and it’s taken 5 shots off my game.
You’re an excellent teacher.
Keep up your good work.

Great tip for warm ups prior to start of a round. The first drive determines the rest of my round.
Many thanks,
Tony.

Thanks for the critique ! That’s exactly what my problem was/is. I know it’ll be difficult in the beginning, but, when performed correctly, as instructed, I not only hit the ball straighter, but, also, about 20-25 yds. longer.

These video lessons are excellent! Short and to the problem and solution.
I am sharing them with some friends.
Thanks,

This doesn’t address how to solve the problem. It’s way too vague. How about a drill or something.

I love these videos, if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video must be worth a million. I have lots of problems understanding what written golf tips really mean but with a video, especially the movements in slow motion and your new two side-by-side video demonstrations, everything becomes clear. Well done and thanks for the tips.

love the video. i understand that the right shoulder(right hand player) should be parralel to the line of target at impact with the right hand straight.?

Thanks Jack…I have had a problem fading the ball and this video has undoubtedly shown me why. Must take it to the course and see if it really does work…many thanks for a great tip!

I posted that this was too vague but when I took a few swings, I understood the feeling you need. Looking forward to the range tomorrow. This could be a huge improvement for me.

I have had many lessons over the years, but this advice is definitely the most effective I know.I purchased some of the Purepoint DVDs and they are quite excellent.
There are only two areas I would appreciate comment from Bobby if at all possible please.
The first is the route which the club takes on the backswing to the 9 o’clock position-ie how much inside the line?
The second is- on the backswing is it wrong to roll the clubface open with the arms with a view to then rolling/rotating it closed through impact? If it is, how can the clubface be rotated closed on the downswing without causing a hook/duckhook, as by the time the face arrives at impact one would imagine it would be quite closed?

This is a problem i have had for years.I will be out putting this in to practise,to get my handicap back down.I look forward to an improved swing as a result.

Hi Jack,
I’ve been receiving your tips for a few weeks now and found them very interesting. This video clip (secret golf lesson # 2 stop pushing/fading) in particular has my attention as this is exactly my problem. I am trying the techniques suggested in the range with some success. The lesson appears incomplete as the footage jumps somewhat, where can I see the full footage?
Many Thanks

Isn’t this a “Pull-Fade”….not a “Push-Fade”?

Hi Jack. I used your practice tip (driving)about placing right foot back and having a practise swing to aviod topping the ball. WOW what a difference that made not one topped ball so far and alot straighter to. Many thanks
