Proper Golf Stance

This Putting Drill Helps Feel For Distance

You can have a great putting stroke and still not be a good putter. If you don’t have a good feel for distance, you still struggle with your putting—no matter how much you practice or work on your fundamentals.

Incorporate this drill in to your practice routine and it will sharpen your feel for distance.

Eyes-Closed Putting Drill

Go to the practice green and practice your putting the same way as always. Then add this component to your routine: Set up three balls in a line 10 feet from the hole. Hit each of them with your eyes closed. After practicing this was for 10 or 15 minutes, drop back an-other 10 feet. Hit three more putts with your eyes closed. Repeat.

Hitting putts with your eyes closed not only sharpens your feel for distance, it also helps develop a consistent roll. Work on this drill until you can roll the three balls within six inches of each other and the hole.
